ShelterBox is an international disaster relief charity that delivers emergency shelter and lifesaving aid to families affected by disaster.
Thanks to donors around the world, we are able to bring essential items to families who have lost everything in disasters, which could include a tent, water filtration equipment, kitchen utensils, mosquito nets, blankets and groundsheets, a tool kit and children’s activity packs.

Baking and collecting during BSW 2013 in the UK
ShelterBox UK & Ireland is gathering its London volunteers to spend some of their time during BSW, once again, at various collection points across the city’s central tube stations at peak times, raising awareness and funds for families made homeless by disasters.
Meanwhile, cake bakes and tea parties will be happening across the South West of England where ShelterBox supporters will be participating in the ShelterBox Big Cake Bake. Friends, families and colleagues of the bakers will be able to learn about ShelterBox’s disaster relief work while eating delicious cakes as well as making a difference by donating.
Why not bake your favourite cakes to sell at school, work, or club during BSW 2013? You can help bring hope to families who have lost everything.

Relaxing and recreation in Switzerland for BSW 2013
After a successful Big ShelterBox Week last year, ShelterBox Switzerland is joining the global community once again this year to help families in need by offering the public a chance to relax and play at various events.
‘Massages for Charity’ will kick start the week for the Swiss affiliate in Zurich on 1 June. People will be able to unwind whilst raising funds for ShelterBox by having a relaxing massage offered by a professional therapist for a small donation.
To round off the event, Rotary Clubs are organising a charity golf tournament in Bellinzona on 9 June, where people have the chance to raise awareness and money for disaster-affected families whilst having fun playing golf.
Anyone can make a difference to families affected by disaster around the world by getting involved in Big ShelterBox Week this year. It’s just one month away. Why not start thinking about what you could do?

ShelterBox community united at Big ShelterBox Week 2012
Last year’s Big ShelterBox Week saw the ShelterBox community unite across the globe in celebration of our annual awareness and fund raising week. Colourful events ranged from yard sales in the USA, to cake bakes in Canada, a photographic event across the Netherlands, a children’s festival in Switzerland, and a country-wide school tour in the UK. People around the world generously gave their time to support ShelterBox.
